Fredericton, NB In a gripping match at LB Gym, UNB Saint John claimed a hard-fought victory over St. Thomas University, securing the win with a 3-2 score after a closely contested series of sets.
UNBSJ started strong, taking an 11-9 lead in the first set, but STU rallied and secured the set with a 25-19 win.
The second set saw UNBSJ's solid performance, taking it 25-15 to even the score at 1-1.
The third set was closely contested, with STU narrowly winning 27-25 to regain the lead. UNBSJ responded in the fourth set, winning by a slim margin and tying the game at 2-2, leading to a decisive fifth set.
In the final set, UNBSJ showed dominance, securing the win with a 15-8 score at LB Gym. The match concluded with a final score of 3-2 in favor of UNB Saint John.
Adam Gauthier led the Seawolves with 11 kills, while for the Tommies, Brenton Romanchuk led with 21 kills.
