ACAA women’s soccer

The UNBSJ Seawolves and St. Thomas Tommies squared off in ACAA women's soccer Wednesday at the Canada Games Stadium.

The first half was even until the Tommies scored on an own goal scored from close range for the Tommies off a corner kick scramble 23 minutes into the game. The score remained 1-0 at the half.

Karlee Duval tied the game midday through second half from a corner kick. Nikita McCartney gave the Tommies the lead again a short time later. The Seawolves took advantage of a fierce head wind to pin the Tommies in their own end and came close to typing the game several times late in the game but the Tommies weathered the attack and held on for the win. 

The Tommies outshot the Seawolves 13-10 in the entertaining game. 

The Tommies improved to 6-0-1 for the season to remain in first place. The Seawolves dropped to 1-2-3.

The Tommies next game is home Saturday, September 29 at 2:00pm against Crandall University. The Seawolves host Crandall Sunday, September 30 at 1:00pm.
