St. Thomas Tommies Claim ACAA Title with Dominant 3–0 Victory Over Dragons

Fredericton, NB – The St Thomas Tommies pull off the 3-0 sweep over the USTA Dragons to win the ACAA Men's Volleyball Championship

The first set started off with the Tommies and the Dragons trading points leaving us with a tie ball game, 8-8. The Tommies would go on to put together a rally netting them a four-point lead with the score sitting at 16-12. The Dragons would battle back however, cutting the lead down to just one 20-19. Despite a hard-fought set from the Dragons, the Tommies would be too much as they pick up the first set 25-22.

The second set would see the Tommies carve out a four-point lead from an intense set 10-6. The Tommies would keep on applying pressure as they saw their lead balloon to seven 14-7. The Dragons would keep the set close cutting it to a four-point lead at one point, but the Tommies would come out on top 25-18.

The Tommies would come out on fire in the third set sprinting out to a 6-1 lead. The Tommies would go on to maintain their five-point lead as they sat up 13-8 at the midway point. The Tommies would finish out the third set as they win the ACAA championship with a score of 25-16.

The Tommies player of the game was Mason Brewster and the Dragons player of the game was Vincent Doucet
