Mounties Crowned 2025-26 ACAA Women’s Volleyball Champions!

Fredericton, NB – The Mount Allison Mounties win a dramatic 5 set finals versus the UNBSJ Seawolves to win the ACAA Women's Volleyball Championship.

In the first set, the Seawolves set the tone early on as they started off going up 5-1. The Mounties would answer back by bringing the game back within one with a score of 10-9 in the Seawolves favour. The Seawolves would respond by putting together a staggering run that put them up seven, 18-11. Despite a strong performance from the Mounties, the Seawolves would prove to be too much taking home the set 25-19.

In the second set, the Mounties would be the team jumping out to an early lead of four points with a score of 8-4. The Mounties would keep the momentum rolling as they extended their lead to eight 15-7. The Seawolves would then go on a run to close the gap but the Mounties would finish off the set picking up the win 25-17.

The third set saw our most even start of the day as both teams were tied at 7-7 early on. The two teams would go back and forth leaving the Seawolves with just a one-point lead 16-15. Down the stretch it was all Seawolves as they sealed the victory 25-21.

The Seawolves would keep the good times rolling in the fourth set as they netted a 7-1 lead early on. The Mounties would not go away quietly as they mounted a comeback that brought them back to even at 13-13. The two teams would go blow for blow until the Mounties pulled through to secure the set 25-23.

Both the Seawolves and Mounties came ready to play in the decisive set as the score sat at 7-7 nearing the midway point. In the back half of the set, the Mounties would fend off a late Seawolves run as they win the set as well as the ACAA Championship.

Player of the game for the Seawolves was Emily Robichaud and player of the game for the Mounties was Chloe Palmer.
