ACAA Athletes of the Week - Feb. 23, 2022

After New Brunswick institutions officially returned to play the previous weekend, the ACAA's Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island members rejoined them on the courts, where solid performances were aplenty as the truncated regular seasons wind down.

Lisa Bolander, Holland College - Basketball
In the Hurricanes' return to the court on Sunday, it was the dynamic first-year guard out of Uppsala, Sweden who set the pace for Holland College, leading all scorers with 23 points to go with six assists and four rebounds as the Hurricanes moved to third in the ACAA standings with an 89-51 win on home court over the Crandall University Chargers.

Bolander, who is studying Marketing and Advertising Management at Holland College, is fourth in the ACAA with 16.8 points per game, third in 3-point percentage at a 39.6 per cent clip, and second in assists with 3.9 per game.

Simon Anctil, UNB Saint John - Volleyball
In a pivotal matchup against the St. Thomas Tommies on home court, fourth-year right side Simon Anctil stepped up in a big way, posting a team-high 13 kills and an ace to help the Seawolves hand the Tommies their first loss of the regular season in a highly competitive four-set match, while pulling even with Holland College for third in the ACAA.

For the season, the Jemseg, N.B. native has posted 70 kills, 41 digs, 11 total blocks and seven service aces while studying in the Bachelor of Arts program at UNB Saint John.
