Chargers Win 1-0 Over Seawolves

Chargers Win 1-0 Over Seawolves

SAINT JOHN, NB - Crandall Chargers win 1-0 on the road against the UNBSJ Seawolves. Four years and a day, that is how long since the Chargers Men's team last win or 1463 days.

The skies were grey and the rain would leave every player soaked, the weather seemed to fit perfectly with the gritty match that played out on the field.

Tim Leaman had an incredibly busy afternoon in goal for the Chargers facing 24 shots on goal and contending with 14 corner kicks however, nothing would cross the line with Leaman on guard. Leaman would go on to record the first clean sheet of his collegiate career.

Seawolves peppered shots all match long led by Beejan Hosainy with 7-8 shots being placed on goal.

Jacob Agbor had his best game of the season for the Chargers, putting all four of his shots on goal and putting in the corner kick that led to the lone goal of the match.

Said corner kick came in the 30th minute as Agbor lined up on the left corner and found a wide-open Ethan Druart who buried the ball into the back of the net.

Dylan Wornell played a good game stopping 4-5 of the shots that came his way.

Crandall received a pair of yellow cards in the match courtesy of Christian Sheen and Jacob Agbor in the 42 and 85 minutes, respectively.

The Chargers will look to build upon their success as they head to P.E.I. to face Holland College to end their season Saturday. The last meeting between the two teams saw the Hurricanes winning 7-1 over the Chargers.
