MONCTON, NB - The Mount Allison Mounties (4-1) took control to sweep the Crandall Chargers(1-4) in three straight sets with a score of (26-24, 25-16, 25-20).
Erica Astephen led the Mounties with 14.5 points, making her presence known at the net with 6 solo blocks, a block assist, and 6 kills.
Ella Boudreau was the first choice for the Mounties as she had converted 9 of her 23 kill attempts for points.
Hailey Legacy was the points leader for the Chargers with 3.5 blocks, a trio of service aces and 5 kills.
The Chargers as a whole were boom or bust when it came to serving, with 14 aces to match their 14 errors. The bright spot from service was Brianna Rancourt who finished with 5 aces to a single error.
The Chargers will have a week to try to make the adjustments before their matchup against UKC (2-2) on Saturday, Nov. 19th. The pair of teams faced off at the end of October with UKC taking a close 3-1 victory.
