Cormier’s 14 Points Push Chargers Past Blue Devils 61-55

MONCTON, NB - Crandall Chargers came out victorious 61-55 over the University of King's College (UKC) Blue Devils on Saturday afternoon.

 

Neither team really jumped out of the gates as it took three full minutes of play before UKC's Brendan Morris would open up scoring with a layup off the glass. Morris would ultimately lead the Blue Devils in scoring with 14 points going 6-9 from the field.

 

Daniel Hawkes (Woodstock, NB) went off in the first half of the game for the Chargers going 5-6 from the field for 11 points, while also high-pointing 3 rebounds.

 

Gabriel Cormier (Moncton, NB) led the Chargers in points making his hay in the paint for 6 buckets while also coming down with 8 rebounds which tied teammate James French (Moncton, NB) for team-high rebounds.

 

With a win, this afternoon the Chargers improve to 7-4 on the season and leapfrog over STU to claim third place in the ACAA Standings. The Chargers will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they host the winless UNBSJ Seawolves. The two teams opened the season against one another with Crandall claiming a 75-63 victory.
