Chargers Dismiss Mystics 80-69

MONCTON, NB -  Crandall Chargers take care of the visiting MSVU Mystics 80-69 to cap their final home game of the semester.

 

The Chargers played hard and energetic Sunday evening, which was their third contest of the week. Credit is due to the athletes and coaching staff for being prepared and highly conditioned to make it through a gruelling week of games against Mount A., Holland, and The Mount.

 

Devon Glenn had a return to form after a down game, putting together a 20-point match going 6-9 from beyond the arc. Glenn led the team in scoring, and assists (6), while sharing the lead in team steals with Tyray Cooper at three each.

 

James French now leads the league in defensive rebounds with 48 after securing 9 today. With a total of 13 boards today French also sits second league-wide in rebounds per game, with a 9.3 average. Alongside his rebounding French also contributed 14 points for the Chargers.

 

Gabriel Cormier and Tyray Cooper both had strong showings for the Chargers adding 17 and 13 points each, respectively. 

 

Will Spaulding led the Mystics with 21 points, shooting 8-18 from the field with 4 from beyond the arc.  Jaxon Smith went 7-15 from the field to add 18 points for MSVU.

 

The Chargers will wrap up the first semester of the season on Friday as they hit the road to square up with the STU Tommies. The last time the two teams met the Chargers took it 102-95.
