Holland Edge Out Chargers 74-70

MONCTON, NB - The Holland Hurricanes came into Moncton Friday evening, handing the Crandall Chargers their fourth straight loss 74-70.

 

The Hurricanes came out hot and looked to have complete control of the game, jumping up to an 18-8 after the opening quarter. Crandall found their rhythm putting up 23 and 22 points in each of the following quarters.

 

Alexa Rancourt had herself a massive game for the Chargers with a double-double, going 9-14 from the field and a perfect 3-3 from the line for a team-leading 21 points and coming down with 17 total rebounds.

 

Mattea Hansen saw a season-high in minutes and was able to capitalize on her time on the court, turning in 11 total points.   

 

Karla Benitez led the Hurricanes in scoring with 20 points in 35 minutes of action. Benitez also recorded 10 rebounds enough to earn her a shared lead with teammate Lauren Armstrong.

 

Crandall continues to slide and is now 1-4 on the season, though tonight was one of the best team performances this year. The Chargers will look to build upon their success Sunday afternoon as they will wrap up their final home games of 2022 against MSVU.
