Mounties drop regular season finale to Tommies
(SACKVILLE, NB) In the final regular season game of the season the Mounties hosted the Tommies in McCormack Gymnasium. The Tommies would go on to win 77-68 and clinch first-place in the ACAA.
Tim Ellison (Halifax, NS) posted yet another double-double for the Mounties as he went for 19 points and 14 rebounds. Emanuel Adugna (Toronto, ON) added 13 points on 50% shooting.
The Tommies were led offensively by Geoffrey Lavoie (Ottawa, ON) as his 26 points led all players. Vincent Lyttleton (Markham, ON) provided a spark from the bench going 3-for-6 from the three-point line and adding 10 points.
Before the game both the Women's and Men's Mounties basketball programs recognized their seniors. These remarkable student-athletes have left an indelible mark on the court, in the classroom and both on the Mount Allison campus and in the community. Our 2022-23 Men's Basketball graduating seniors are:
- #2 – Minwoo Park
- #5 – Noah McCarthy
St. Thomas (13-5) with the win clinch first place in the ACAA, they host the 2023 Men's Basketball Championships next week in Fredericton, NB. They await their semi-final opponent for a game on March 4.
Mount Allison (9-9) finishes the regular season in fifth and will play MSVU in a quarterfinal game on March 3. Game-time to be determined.
