MONCTON, NB - Mount Saint Vincent University remains undefeated on the season, taking down the Crandall Chargers 4-1 on Sunday afternoon.
The Chargers took the lead in the 23rd minute with a goal scored by Amanda Piltzmaker however, the Mystics would answer back via a goal by Esja Marr in the 32nd minute.
After 45 minutes the match was tied to one goal a piece. Coming out of half-time the Mystics caught the Chargers off guard scoring two goals in the first ten minutes courtesy of Erica Boone and Annika Monroe.
The final insurance goal by MSVU came off a penalty kick in the 71st minute as Laura St. Jean was able to put one past Maya Clapperton.
Mystics applied pressure all match long making seven shots in each half with eight making their way to goal. On the other hand, the Chargers managed fewer shots, but all six of their attempts were placed on goal, forcing Mystics Goalkeeper to make five saves.
The Chargers next match will be Wednesday evening on the road to face off with Dalhousie Rams. The last time the two teams met, Crandall ran away with it with a 5-0 victory.
