Chargers Come Up Short fall 1-0 to MSVU

MONCTON, NB - Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics come away victorious on Sunday afternoon defeating the Crandall Chargers 1-0.

In the opening minutes of play Chargers Goalkeeper, Noah Miller got tangled up with an MSVU Striker inside the box leading to a penalty shot. Waris Atiquillah capitalized on the opportunity to bury the penalty shot for the match's lone goal.

The remainder of the match was tilted in favour of MSVU as they put 11 of their 24 shots on goal and were awarded 24 total corner kicks. 

The Chargers struggled to play the ball deep into Mystics territory, recording 6 shots. Of the shots attempted only two were on goal but both were turned away by the fifth-year Goalkeeper, Kevin Abraham.

Late in the match, Crandall had their best opportunity to score as Micah Crummey made a run down the line and sent a rocket into the net but was ultimately flagged as being offside.

Next up for the Chargers is a road game as they will face off with Dal AC for the second time this season. The previous meeting of the two teams was a 2-0 victory for the Rams in which the Chargers held them scoreless into the final 10 minutes.
