Turnovers Cost Tommies Against Hurricanes

The St. Thomas Tommies fell 95-64 to the undefeated Holland College Hurricanes in ACAA men's basketball action Sunday afternoon in Fredericton.

Trevone Grant and Tevin Bailey each had 18 points and four rebounds for the Hurricanes, while Ben Cripps and Jacob Eatmon led the Tommies with 19 and 18 points, respectively.

The Hurricanes put together a well-balanced attack -- six of their eight players registered double-digit point totals --which made it difficult for the Tommies to get stops on the defensive end. It was turnovers that made a real difference in the game. The Tommies gave the ball up 38 times, which the Hurricanes converted into 40 points, while STU only managed seven points off the Hurricanes' 16 turnovers.
