Mystics Edge Tommies 66-60 in Fredericton

The St. Thomas Tommies fell just short against the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics, losing 66-60 in ACAA men's basketball action Sunday afternoon at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym.

With the win, the Mystics improve to 7-6 while the Tommies drop to 4-10.

Derek Norris led the Mystics with 19 points and seven rebounds. Emad Kalek and Liam Mitchell added 11 and 10, respectively.

The Tommies were led by Sam Drummond, who connected for 12 points.  Jeremy Speller added 11 points and 13 rebounds for the double-double.

It was a tight first half, but a lapse in the second quarter where the Tommies were outscored 23-7 gave the Mystics a 34-25 advantage at the break. It was back and forth in the second, with the teams trading leads. The Tommies had a chance to tie late in the game, but weren't able to capitalize.
