Fredericton, NB - The Holland College Hurricanes (2nd) advanced to the ACAA Men’s Basketball Final in convincing fashion, defeating the Crandall University Chargers (3rd) 90-74 at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym.
Holland’s backcourt pairing of Jalen Menzies and Kyree Thompson were too much for Crandall to handle, as the pair combined for 39 points.
The Chargers led by as much as 7 points in the first quarter, but a Logan Rempel three-pointer with 3 minutes left in the first would give Holland a lead that they would not relinquish.
The ‘Canes controlled the second quarter and took an 8-point lead into the half.
Crandall tightened up defensively and cut the lead to only 8 points in the third quarter, but the defense wouldn’t hold as Holland was able to put up 31 points in the fourth quarter, punching a ticket to Sunday’s final.
The Hurricanes will face the host STU Tommies in the ACAA Men’s Basketball Final. Tip-off is set for 3:30PM at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym.
