The Holland Hurricanes fell to 3-4 after losing to MSVU Saturday night at the MacMillan Centre.

The first quarter saw both teams going back and forth, but it was the Hurricanes who came away with the lead early in the quarter 10-8. MSVU responded quickly as Dan Callaghan hit two threes, and the Mystics went on a 14-8 run and ended the quarter with a 22-16 lead.

The team did trade baskets to start the second quarter, but MSVU pulled away. They increased their lead and forced the Hurricanes to call a timeout, but the timeout didn't help. MSVU came out of the timeout on fire as they outscored the Hurricanes 13-9 and took a 43-33 lead into halftime.

The Hurricanes struggled in the third quarter as they couldn't gain any momentum. MSVU had no problem in the third quarter as they continued to put up points. MSVU got out to a 60-41 lead with 3:35 left in the third quarter. The rest of the quarter continued to be dominated by the Mystics, as they took a 69-48 lead into the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter saw the Hurricanes continue to struggle, as they missed three shots in a row and were forced to call another timeout. The timeout did see the Hurricanes grab some momentum, but MSVU was able to respond back every time. MSVU didn't look back after the timeout, they continued to hit their shots as they extended their lead to 24 with three minutes remaining in the quarter.

The rest of the quarter and the game saw the teams trade buckets back and forth, but the Mystics were able to hold on as they improved to 7-0 and handed the Hurricanes their second straight loss, as the Hurricanes fell to 3-4.
