Mystics back in Winning Mode

Mystics back in Winning Mode

The Mystics coming off two road losses last weekend refused to make it three with a home win versus their cross town rivals the UKC Blue Devils with a score of 96-82. The Mystics took advantage of a short Blue Devils bench and dominated the paint 52-36 points, controlled the boards with a 43-33 advantage and also managed the basketball with only 10 turnovers for the game. The Mystics were in control for most of the game and in the second quarter had build a 19 point lead going into the break while scoring 55 points on the scoreboard. The Blue Devils were pesky in the third quarter, lead by first year player Tariq Armstrong with his defense that lead to easy scoring points but the Mystics had an answer on ever Blue devils run and stretched their 19 point haltime lead to 25. The final quarter was the one quarter the Blue Devils did win by 9, with Armstrongs strong play again, but the deficit was too much for their team to overcome and the Mystics close out the game with the win and stopped the two game losing streak.

The Mystics will host the Crandall Chargers next Saturday Jan 17th while the Blue Devils head out on the road tomorrow, Jan 21st to challange the Holland Hurricanes.
