The St. Thomas Tommies edged the University of King's College Blue Devils 4-3 in ACAA men's soccer action Saturday afternoon in Fredericton.
The Tommies struck first, earning the advantage off a goal from Xavier Ponce in the 27th minute. The Blue Devils responded on the next play with a goal off the foot of James Whitehead, tying the game 1-1. Alex Porter gave the Blue Devils their only lead of the game in the 39th minute, but Klinton Doucette tied things up for the Tommies just before halftime.
Three minutes into the second half, Hassan Youssuf put the Tommies up 3-2. The Blue Devils upped their pressure and were rewarded when Porter notched his second of the game in the 57th minute to even the score at 3-3. With six minutes to go, Robert LeBlanc netted his fifth goal of the season to give the Tommies a 4-3 win.
