The Holland Hurricanes defeated the UNBSJ Seawolves 3-1 in the season opener at the Canada Games Stadium.

The Hurricanes came out hard agains the youthful Seawolves, building up a 3-0 first half lead. The flood gates opened at the 26' minute mark when 

Julien Jones scored. That was quickly followed by a Tegan Misener goal at 33 minutes and Mohamed Alhadji Ali rounded out the scoring fore the Hurricanes at 40 minutes.

The Seawolves made a spirited attempt to come back and were lifted for a time when Nick Ellingwood scored to cut the lead to 3-1 but that is how it ended.

The Hurricanes win their season opener and sit at 1-0-0 while the Seawolves begin then season at 0-1-0.

The Seawolves host the Dalhousie Agricultural Rams Sunday, Sept, 12 at 11:00am and 1:15pm while the Hurricanes travel to St. Thomas to take on the Tommies at 12:00pm and 2:15pm.
