Saint John, NB – The University of New Brunswick Saint John Seawolves struck early, but the Holland College Hurricanes stormed back to win Saturday's match 4-2 at the Canada Games Stadium.
Ashton Engel (Calgary, AB) opened the scoring for the Seawolves in the 10th minute. Griffin Cassidy (Rothesay, NB) came streaking down the right wing and sent a cross into the box and Engel converted on the volley.
The match would remain 1-0 for the Seawolves until the late in the first when Mohammad Alhaj Ali would score the first of three goals on the day, including a pair just minutes apart to start the second half. Kazuya Iwasaki would cap off the scoring for the Hurricanes in the 73rd minute, and Stefan Jonnson (Saint John, NB) would cap the scoring for the day in the 79th minute.
With the victory the Hurricanes move to 4-0-1, while the setback sees the Seawolves slide to 2-4-0.
Both teams will be back in action Sunday when the Seawolves host the Dal AC Rams (1-4-1) and the hurricanes travel to Fredericton to take on the St. Thomas Tommies.
