Hurricanes win second ACAA title in three years

The Holland Hurricanes prevailed in front of a loud and rowdy crowd at the Holland College Centre for Community Engagement on Sunday to become the 2019 ACAA Champions.

 

The 'Canes won in the fourth after sets of 22-25, 25-21, 25-21 and 27-25.

 

Brett Butler (28 kills) and Marcus Lapointe (19 digs) led the Hurricanes in the victory.

 

The top statistical performers for the Tommies were Christian Christie (19 kills) and Evan VanBuskirk (18 digs).

 

The Hurricanes will now represent the ACAA conference at the CCAA National Championships being held in Red Deer, Alberta, hosted by the Red Deer Kings.

 

This is the second ACAA Championship in team history for the men's volleyball Hurricanes.

 

The players of the game in the match were Brett Butler (Hurricanes) and Ryan Dickson (Tommies).

 

The three-day event, hosted by the Holland Hurricanes, was filled with many exciting matches and moments in front of thousands of fans.
