The UNBSJ Seawolves hosted the STU Tommies in men's volleyball action Saturday in Saint John.
The Seawolves stunned the previously undefeated Tommies in four sets 25-23, 25-23, 21-25, 25-17. The Seawolves played like a confident team throughout the match and did a great job limiting the powerful hitters on the Tommies.
Simon Anctil came up big for the Seawolves with 13 kills. Carson Dorcas added 9 kills, Liam McLellen had 33 assists and Ben Wilson contributed 11 digs for the victorious Seawolves.
Adam McDougall of the Tommies had a match-high 14 kills and Gustavo Lobito added 10 kills. Henry Doucet had 25 assists and Brendan Murphy and Christian Christie each had 6 digs.
The Seawolves improved to 2-6 as they handed the Tommies their first loss of the season. The Tommies still lead the ACAA conference with a 7-1 record while the Seawolves moved into a 3rd place tie with Holland College.
The teams next see action February 26 when the Tommies host Holland College at 2:00pm and the Seawolves host the USTA Dragons at 6:00pm.
