The UNBSJ Seawolves hosted the USTA Dragons in men's volleyball Sunday in Saint John. It was the second match of a doubleheader weekend.
The Seawolves defeated the Dragons for the second consecutive day, winning in four sets 25-16, 25-12, 23-25, 25-19.
Carson Dorcas led the way with 13 kills and Ryan Farrell had 12 for the Seawolves. Ryan Liam McLellan contributed 39 assists and Ben Wilson and Blake Stephenson each had 9 digs for the winners.
Bradley Spinney had another good day for the Dragons, finishing with 11 kills and 10 digs. Jeremy Bourque added 7 kills and 4 digs and Joshua Aucoin had 26 assists.
The Seawolves gained ground in the race for 2nd place and the right to host in the semi-final. They now have a 4-6 record and sit one game behind the Dragons who fell to 5-5.
The Seawolves will try to keep it going when they travel to Holland College for a weekend doubleheader March 5-6, the same weekend the Dragons host STU in a doubleheader. It will be an interesting weekend.
