CHURCH POINT, N.S.: On Friday evening at the Marcel.-R.-Comeau gymnasium at Universite Sainte-Anne, the Dragons defeated the UNBSJ Seawolves in 5 sets in front of a large and loud home town crowd. 

The Dragons took an early 2-0 lead winning the 1st two sets 25-20 & 25-21. However, the Seawolves battled hard and took all the energy out of the building winning the next 2 sets: 25-22 & 25-20 to push the match to a 5th and deciding set. Sainte-Anne found its way and came back to win the final set 15-6 and complete the win 3-2 and sending fans home with the victory.

For the Seawolves, Finlay Kearney-Staunton lead the way with 16 kills, Liam McLellan added 38 assists and Andrew Arseneau contributed 11 digs. The Dragons were lead by Captain Alec Cottreau with 19 kills, Joshua Aucoin had 47 assists and Gabriel Beaton lead with 12 digs. 

Sainte-Anne improves to 9-3 and 3 wins in a row, good for 18 points and maintaining 1st place overall in the ACAA Men's Volleyball Division. UNBSJ falls to 1-11 but fought hard tonite and showed much poise and character by taking the Dragons to the limit. 

Both teams return to the court tomorow in the 2nd of 3 weekend games for a 6 PM match up.

POINTE-de-l'EGLISE, N.-E.: Vendredi soir au gymnase Marcel.-R.-Comeau de l'Université Sainte-Anne, les Dragons ont battu les Seawolves de UNBSJ en 5 manches devant une grande foule bruyante.

Les Dragons ont pris une avance de 2-0 en remportant les deux premières manches 25-20 et 25-21. Cependant, les Seawolves sont revenus et ont pris toute l'énergie du gymnase en gagnant les 2 manches suivantes : 25-22 et 25-20 pour pousser le match à une 5ème manche décisive. Sainte-Anne a trouvé sa voie et est revenu pour gagner la dernière manche 15-6 et compléter la victoire 3-2 et envoyer les partisans à la maison avec la victoire.

Pour les Seawolves, Finlay Kearney-Staunton a mené avec 16 attaques, Liam McLellan a ajouté 38 passes et Andrew Arseneau a contribué à 11 récupérations. Les Dragons ont été menés par le capitaine Alec Cottreau avec 19 attaques, Joshua Aucoin avec 47 passes et Gabriel Beaton avec 12 récupérations.

Sainte-Anne s'améliore à 9-3 et 3 victoires consécutives, bon pour 18 points et encore en 1ère place dans la division de volleyball masculin de l'AASC. UNBSJ tombe à 1-11 mais s'est battu sans relache ce soir et a montré beaucoup de sang-froid et de caractère en poussant les Dragons à la limite.

Les deux équipes reviennent sur le terrain demain à 18 heures pour le deuxième de trois matchs en fin de semaine.
