The St. Thomas Tommies fell 89-75 to the Holland College Hurricanes in ACAA women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at the Lady Beaverbrook Gym. 

Jazlin Barker led the Hurricanes with 19 points, eight assists, and nine rebounds. Marvia Dean added 16 points and 14 rebounds for the double-double. 

The Tommies were led by Katelynn Carver, who connected for 23 points. Jessica Patenaude chipped in with 19 points and eight boards. 

It was a tight first quarter, with the Tommies coming out to a 11-10 lead. The Hurricanes took over in the second, outscoring the Tommies 29-16 en route to a 39-27 half time lead. 

The Tommies came out strong in the third and cut into the Hurricanes lead. They continued to chip away throughout the fourth--coming as close as 11 points--but the Hurricanes held on for the win.
