Second Half Slump Costs Tommies Against Mounties

The St. Thomas Tommies fell 60-48 to the Mount Allison Mounties in ACAA women's basketball action Saturday afternoon in Fredericton.

Maddyson MacDonald led the Mounties with 16 points, while Katie Lund chipped in with 12.

The Tommies were led by Jessica Patenaude, who connected for 13 points and six rebounds. Carissa McTague hauled in a game-high 14 boards.

The Tommies controlled much of the first half, coming out to a 19-8 lead. The Green and Gold continued their strong play in the second quarter en route to a 29-21 half time lead.

The Mounties came out firing in the third, outscoring the Tommies 18-7. Turnovers and missed boxouts cost the Tommies down the stretch and the Mounties capitalized, cruising to a 60-48 win.
