Holland Fights Back for Road Win

Lisa Bolander led all scorers with 32 points with 20 of them coming in the fouth quarter that sealed the snd half come back by the visiting Hurricanes to knock off the host Mystics. The Hurrianes scored 56 points in the second half and was able to over come the 10 point half time deficit to come out on top. The game was filled with several team runs by the Mystics to stretch leads out to 16, 12 and 10 sevral times to only watch the lead dwindle time and time again which allowed the HUrricanes to gain momentum as the game was played out. The Hurricanes starting lineup all had great games led by Bolander, Karla Benitez added 16 point and 13 rebounds, while Lauren Armstrong added 20 points and 7 boards. The Mystics started out on fire scoring 28 in the first quarter and led by 10 into the half but seemed to find their way into tough shots in the second half on many of their possessions which then led to Hurricanes breaking out and transitioning to easy points. The Mystics were led in scoring by Katherine Khorovets with 26 poimts and 12 rebounds & Emily Holt with 20 points and 8 rebounds.  

The win creates three teams on top of the ACAA women's standings with 20 points and with playoffs looming it will provide some interesting games down the stretch with playoff implications. The Mystics will go back out on the road next weeked for two in Fredericton versus the Tommies and then to Saint John to take on the Seawolves. The Hurricanes head home to play the Mounties from Mount Allison on Sunday Feb 12th.
