It was a perfect day for rugby at Rockingstone Field in Spryfield, NS, where the UKC Blue Devils played their home opener against St. Thomas University, coming off a win against Mount Allison.
The Devils have upped their game since last season, with strong rucks and clean tackles from players, Severen Fischer-Schmitt (man of the match), Zoe MacIsaac, and Isla Littlewood.
A hard fought game with injuries to both sides, the St. Thomas Tommies defeated the UKC Blue Devils 74-5. Kings' prop, Ariel Greenblatt scoring UKC's first try of the season.
King's will play the Mount Allison Mounties September 23rd, while the Tommies get a much deserved break, playing their last game against the Devils on October 9th.
