The University of New Brunswick Reds played their second home game for the 2018 regular season against the St. Thomas University Tommies. This was a re- match of last season's championship final. On this fine fall afternoon, the Reds defeating St. Thomas University Tommies 29-10 in ACAA women's rugby action in Fredericton on College Field.
UNB opened the scoring in the first half with a try. Constant pressure by the Reds resulted in two additional tries before half. At half time the Reds were up 15-0. A renewed STU team entered the second half with strong play by their forwards. This pressure resulted in two tries for the Tommies' Shannon Morris and Becca Baker. Scoring for UNB was Liz Boissonnault, Lauren Tidd, Taran Price and two from Maggie Grimmer.
The next game is schedule for Sunday October 21stagainst the University of King's College on College field. This will be the last regular season game before ending into the league playoffs. Both teams will be looking to improve their records to end the season.
