The UNB Saint John Seawolves took on the University of King's College Blue Devils in ACAA women's soccer action Sunday at the Canada Games Stadium.
The Blue Devils had a great chance to score on a shot by Madison Frechette but ACAA Athlete of the Week Marina Comeau made a tremendous save on a low shot to the corner to keep the game even.
UKC opened the scoring in the 60th minute on a long shot by Natalie Crawford that dropped in just under the crossbar. It looked like UKC might hang on for the win but Hannah Thorne pounced on a loose off a free kick into the six yard box.
The Seawolves outshot the Blue Devils 16-13 and had 5 corner kicks to none for the Blue Devils.
The Seawolves tied for the fourth time this season and have a record of 3-2-4. The Blue Devils now stand at 2-5-2. Sunday, the Seawolves host MSVU while UKC travels to St. Thomas to play the Tommies. Both games are at 12:00 PM.
