The Rams controlled the play in the first two sets and with consistent team work won 25-16 and 28-26. The 3rd and 4th sets were won by MTA (25-23 and 25-20) as the Rams lost a little momentum. All sets were well played by both teams, with long rallies, aggressive kills and "never say die defence". The 5th and final set again was a well fought set , with MTA coming out on top 15-13.
Leading the Rams was Thea McLachlin who put the ball on the floor 29 times in the 5 sets. Libero Yukie Xie had an outstanding night defensively with 20 digs . The Mountie's Emily Burbidge had 10 kills while Rachel Van Gestel and Melissa McAnsh had 18 and 21 digs respectively.
The Rams play again at home on Sunday Feb 4 , when the Mystics travel to Bible Hill for a 1 pm start.
