ACAA volleyball

The UNB Saint John Seawolves took on the league-leading Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics and it was no contest as the Mystics easily defeated the Seawolves 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-22).

The Mystics dominated from the opening serve. Madison Urquart was the star of the day collecting 11 kills and 12 digs in the short match. Jaylene Fraser was not to be outdone. She accumulated 34 assists and had 12 digs. Jasmine Smith contributed 10 digs and Nicole McCulloch added 8 kills for the winners.

Maggie Birney and Madison Hartos had 3 kills each for the Seawolves. Dayna Alexander and Meagan McCrea-Kosak had 11 and 7 digs respectively. Taylor McGrattan finished with 11 assists.

The Mystics go into the playoffs as the number one seed in the ACAA with a 20-1 record. They will have a bye in the quarter finals on Friday, February 23. The Seawolves finished the regular season with a 12-9 record, good for fourth place. They will play the first quarter final game on the 23rd at 1:00 PM against either University of King's College or Mount Allison University.
