Université Sainte-Anne Athletes Give Back As Youth Volleyball Coaches

Pointe-de-l’Église, NS - Université Sainte-Anne Women’s Volleyball teammates Jacqueline Bright and Rachelle LeBlanc are not only a dynamic duo on the volleyball court for the Dragons, but they are also high school volleyball coaches, volunteering their time to work with local youth volleyball players.

This past August, the Dragons family suffered a great loss with the death of Dan Nadeau, Head Coach of the Université Sainte-Anne Women’s Volleyball team. Nadeau also served as Head Coach for the Senior Girls Volleyball team at École Sécondaire de Clare. Nadeau was a beloved member of the local volleyball community for years.

“Dan brought me some of the best volleyball experiences I have ever known. He taught me so much about not only volleyball, but also about life. He made me want to be the best version of myself,” said Bright.

Inspired by Nadeau’s passion for youth volleyball, Bright and LeBlanc decided to volunteer as Assistant Coaches with École Sécondaire de Clare’s Senior Girls Volleyball team. They hope to inspire the athletes, both on the court and in their personal lives.

“I have had excellent coaches over the years, and I am so grateful for the time and energy they have devoted, which is why I want to give back as a coach,” said LeBlanc.

Bright and LeBlanc plan to continue their involvement as coaches in an effort to give back to the sport that has provided them with so many memories.
