Mystics Remain Undefeated

Mystics Remain Undefeated

The Crandall Chargers brought a tough battle to the MSVU Mystics home gym. Both teams are among the top statistical leaders in blocks per set and kills per set which led to a tough game ending 3-0 for the Mystics.

The first set proved to be a close match up with a 25-20 finish in favor of the Mystics after intense opening play. Chargers libero Amy Le Blang led the game with 9 digs while both teams recorded kills from spreading out their offences. Towards the end of the set Mystics front row created a strong presence blocking and used the momentum to carry them into the second set.

Like the first set, the second set was a well fought affair with the score going back and forth until MSVU pulled away for a 25-21 finish. Both the Mystics and the Chargers recorded 10 and 9 service errors respectively in the first two sets of the match. The play got exciting and a bit scrappy at times as both teams played hard to keep the ball up, despite that Janelle Blanchette of the Chargers and Madyson Parlee of the Mystics were able to land 5 kills each up to this point, right behind Mystic Sarah Ryan leading the game with 6 kills.

The third set was equally hard fought; however, the points fell in favor of the Mystics, concluding the game with a 25-11 end. The finish advanced the Mystics to a 5-0 record and the Chargers record became 2-3.
