Holland College Hurricanes Battle the Rain to win two ACAA Soccer Titles!
Women's Division:
The Holland College Hurricanes defeated the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics 1-0 in extra time to win the ACAA Women's Soccer Championship. The game was scoreless at the end of regulation thanks to good defending by both teams and excellent goal keeping. Darby Myers scored the winning goal with a low one-timer shot that went in off the left post. The Hurricanes now advance to the CCAA National Championship, Nov. 9-12, 2016 at Ahunstic College in Montreal, Quebec. CCAA Women's Soccer Championship Website
Men's Division:
The Holland College Hurricanes defeated the University of King's College Blue Devils 3-0 to win the ACAA Men's Soccer Championship. The Blue Devils were a match for the undefeated Hurricanes in the first half with James Whiteman coming very close to scoring twice. The flood gates opened up for the Hurricanes when the referee awarded them penalty in the second half. Ibrahima Sanoh was the player of the game for Hurricanes ending the game with a goal and two assists. James Whiteman was the player of the game for UKC.
