Frenzy of Frazee 3s Leads STU to Victorye 3s Leads STU to Victory

Second year guard Bridget Frazee, of Sussex, N.B., led the St. Thomas University
Tommies to a 84-73 victory in the opening game of the ACAA Women’s Basketball Championships.

Frazee finished the game with 18 points, thanks in most part to her 5/8 shooting from beyond the arc. Her teammate Jessica Patenaude, 5th year from Charlottetown, P.E.I., chipped in with 15 points.

After a great first quarter, the UKC Blue Devils found themselves up by two points, 22-20. That is when Frazee started to find her touch and caught fire from beyond the arc and the Tommies began to pull away. Tenacious defence and great ball movement carried the Tommies to a 47-37 lead at halftime.

First year guard Chloe Oxner, of Bedford, N.S., did her best to keep the Blue Devils within striking distance, but her 18 points wasn’t enough.

The Tommies will face the MSVU Mystics in the semi finals tomorrow at 1:00.
