Crandall Charges Past Rams

In front of a packed Langille Athletic Centre, the host Dalhousie Agricultural College Rams fell to the Crandall Chargers 96-84.

Despite the best efforts of second year guard JC Broussard, who poured in a game high 41 points, the Rams couldn’t match the scoring depth of the third seeded Chargers, as every starter for the Chargers reached double digit point totals in the game.

The second part of the dynamic duo for the Rams, second year forward Robin Grouse, stuffed the stat sheet to the tune of; 22 points, 24 rebounds, and 5 blocks.

Crandall jumped out to a 29-24 lead after the first quarter never looked back. Pushing their lead to higher than 20 at times, the Rams did all they could to pull within 11. But that was as close as they would come.

The third quarter is where the game slipped away from the Rams as the Chargers pushed their lead to 16 after the quarter, but the big hit came in the form of Jonathan Asedri fouling out at the end of the quarter. Asedri was the third leading scorer for the Rams this season.

Leading the way for the Chargers was Hassan Maidal who finished the game with 22 points, but for the Chargers the game belonged to fourth year guard Brandon Fields, who balled his way to 16 points, 16 assists, 15 rebounds and 7 steals.

Crandall will now face the second seeded Mt. Allison Mounties on Saturday at 8:00 pm.
