MSVU’s 2nd half push marches them past the Seawolves

The last men’s match of the night was the Mount St. Vincent Mystics (#4 seed) matching up against the #5 seeded UNBSJ Seawolves. UNBSJ’s hot shooting and strong start propelled them to a 17-14 lead after the first quarter. In the second, MSVU made a push to take the lead mid-way through the second quarter, where they kept that momentum going up into the half 43-37.

Going into the second half, MSVU continued to push the tempo, playing great defense with strong ball movement. MSVU began to break the game wide open as they outscored the Seawolves by 11 in the 3rd quarter, and were up 65-48. In the fourth quarter, the mystics put the pedal to the floor and continued their momentum on both ends of the court. UNBSJ struggled to hit their shots, which lead to the final buzzer going with the Mystics winning 93-64. MSVU will move on the semi-finals tomorrow (March 3), where they will play the #1 seeded Holland College Hurricanes at 6 p.m.
