Dragons Capture 2022-23 ACAA Men's Volleyball Title

Pointe-de-l'Église, NE - The Université Sainte-Anne Dragons captured the 2022-23 ACAA Men’s Volleyball Championship after besting the Holland College Hurricanes 2-0 in a best-of-3 mini-series.

On Saturday afternoon, the Dragons defeated the Hurricanes in three consecutive sets to win the ACAA Men's Volleyball Championship at the Marcel-R.-Comeau gymnasium.

The Dragons came out of the gate hot, running an efficient offense that led to a comfortable first set win, 25-19.

The second set was a highly contested battle, seeing both teams dazzle the crowd with a flurry of hits during numerous exciting rallies. The Dragons managed to weather the Holland College storm, prevailing 29-27.

The third set saw both teams continue to battle, but the Dragons proved to be too strong for the Hurricanes, as Sainte-Anne ended up on top in the final set 25-19.

ACAA All-Stars Alec Cottreau and Jeremy Bourque led the way for the Dragons with 13 and 11 kills respectively. Joshua Aucoin added 37 assists, and Braidey Spinney led the way defensively with 9 digs.

Holland College’s Luke Hyde led the way for the Hurricanes with 16 kills, Justin Rix contributed 29 assists, and Cameron Calhoun added 10 digs.

The Dragons will represent the ACAA at the CCAA Men’s Volleyball Championship hosted by Humber College in Toronto, Ontario, from March 8-11.
