ACAA Athletes of the Week - Week of Oct. 23, 2021

The ACAA wrapped up its regular season competition in both soccer and rugby this past weekend, with plenty of notable performances to go around.

Bri Spencer, Holland College - Soccer

The Hurricanes keeper turned in a perfect weekend to help Holland College clinch the top seed for this weekend's ACAA Women's Soccer Championship, posting clean sheets in matching 4-0 Hurricanes victories over their ACAA semi-final opponents, the UNB-Saint John Seawolves, on Saturday, as well as the St. Thomas University Tommies on Sunday.

A native of Fredericton, N.B., Spencer is in her first year in the Early Childhood Care and Education program at Holland College.

William Benoit, St. Thomas University - Soccer

William Benoit's boots were blazing over the weekend for the Tommies, posting a hat trick in a 9-2 win over Dalhousie AC on Saturday before playing a key role in the Tommies' 2-0 win over Holland College on Sunday on the road, securing an undefeated season and the top seed in this weekend's ACAA Men's Soccer Championship for the Tommies.

The Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., native is in his third overall year of eligibility and his first season at St. Thomas, where he is studying Journalism.
