ACAA basketball

The UNBSJ Seawolves went up against the  league-leading Mount Allison University Mounties in the first game of 2020 for both teams. It was also the 20th annual Kingston Cup. 

The Mounties spoiled the home party by jumping out to a 39-27 half time lead and then building on it in the second half to defeat the Seawolves 89-67.

Sam Pierson led the Mounties with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals. James French added 16 points and 10 rebounds, Emmanuel Octavious had 10 points and 7 assists and Aram Currie added 10 points. 

Tanner Hoyt scored 22 points for the Seawolves. Adam Lambert added 14 points and Jack Fury-Miller finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Mounties improved to 6-2 for the season and remain in first place while the Seawolves fell to 1-6.

The Seawolves next game is against the STU Tommies in Fredericton, Wednesday January 15 at 8:00 PM. The Mounties also play Wednesday when they travel to Crandall to play the Chargers at 8:00 PM.
