ACAA men’s basketball

The UNBSJ Seawolves took on the UKC Blue Devils in ACAA men's basketball action Saturday in Saint John.

The Seawolves were fighting to move into a playoff position and held a 36-28 lead at half time.

The lead climbed to as high as 15 points but the Blue Devils started their comeback in fourth quarter and brought it to within five with a couple of minutes to go. The Seawolves weathered the storm for a crucial 69-63 win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Adam Lambert had another big game for the Seawolves with 25 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. Hunter Gray also came through with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Tanner Hoyt was also in double digits, scoring 11 points To go along with 5 assists.

The Blue Devils were led by Geevon Janday who scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Reese Zorogole added 14 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

The Seawolves improved their record to 2-10 while the Blue Devils now stand slightly ahead at 2-9.

The teams play the second half of the weekend double header tomorrow, February 2 at 2:00 PM in an important game for both teams. The winner will secure the tie-breaker for playoff positioning in the event of a tie in the standings.
