UNB Saint John seized control after halftime, handing St. Thomas University a 95-85 defeat and ending their winning streak, as Jack Fury-Miller's outstanding 31-point performance led the Seawolves to triumph.
The first quarter favored the Tommies with a strong start, winning 28-19.
However, UNBSJ turned the tide in the second quarter, gaining control and heading into halftime with a 53-41 lead.
UNBSJ continued their momentum, winning the third quarter 68-56.
The final score at Grant Harvey favored the away team, UNBSJ, with a score of 85-95.
The Tommies couldn't sustain their winning streak, and UNBSJ's solid performance prevailed against the top team in the ACAA conference. The Tommies record now stands at 11-2, while UNBSJ remains hopeful with a 5-9 record.
Jack Fury-Miller led the Seawolves to victory with 31 points, 2 assists, and 8 rebounds, showcasing an impressive 7-10 3PM-A. Ethan Szemerda (UNBSJ) contributed significantly with 20 points, 4 assists, and 11 rebounds. For the Tommies Geoffrey Lavoie led with 26 points, 1 assist, and 6 rebounds.
Scheduling still needs to be confirmed, but as of now, STU will host Crandall on Friday, 16th, while UNBSJ will face Mount Allison on Saturday, 17th.
