Mystics Cruise Past Chargers in ACAA Men's Soccer

MONCTON, NB. - The return of ACAA action sees the Crandall University Chargers men's soccer team drop their home opener against the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics 1-9.

The Mystics got off to an early start with Amath Botag netting the first goal three minutes into the game. Continuing to keep their foot on the gas, MSVU buried a total of five goals in the first half, including a ball that trickled in during the last seconds of stoppage time.

The Mystics came out hot after the break with Logan O'Connell scoring two goals on the day just five minutes into the half. O'Connell completed his hat-trick in the 87th minute . The Chargers refused to go out without a fight though, with the lone goal for Crandall coming in the 52nd minute courtesy of Ethan Druart.

Chargers Christian Sheen and Brody Harwick were each issued yellow cards as well as Mystics Kevin Abrahar and Tyler Graves.

The Chargers will look to turn things around Sunday afternoon as they play host to the University of King's College Blue Devils. Kickoff is at 3:15 p.m..
