Hurricanes dominate Chargers in straight set win

The opening set saw both teams battle back and forth, but it was the Hurricanes who were able to grab momentum as they took a 10 point lead 20-10, and forced a Chargers timeout. The Hurricanes hung onto momentum and took the first set 25-10 and a 1-0 lead in the game.

The Chargers came out firing from the line, taking a 7-2 lead with four or those points being aces. Trying to disrupt momentum the Hurricanes subbed on Johnny Hyndman. Hyndman would dominate at the net getting back-to-back blogs and tying the game at nine.

The Hurricanes would continue to gain momentum as they grew out to a 6-point lead 18-12 and forced a Charger timeout. The Hurricanes kept momentum after the timeout and went on to win the set 25-12 and take a 2-0 lead in the game.

The opening of the third set saw both teams battle back and forth with the lead switching multiple times. Three service errors from both teams saw the Hurricanes make a sub and bring on Shannon Howell, lead them to back-to-back points, take a 11-7 lead. The Hurricanes continued to pile it on as they took a 15-12 lead and forced a Chargers timeout.

The Hurricanes continued their domination as they went on a 5-2 run taking a 20-14 lead and forcing another Chargers timeout. The Hurricanes didn't look back as they took the third set 25-16 and took the game 3-0.
