Hurricanes drop match to the Dragons

The first quarter saw the teams trading points back and forth, it was the Hurricanes who gathered a three-point lead 10-7. The Hurricanes continued to roll as they took a 12-8 lead and forced a USTA timeout.

 

USTA came out of the timeout firing, they outscored the Hurricanes 4-1 cutting the Hurricanes lead down to one 13-12 and forced a Hurricanes timeout. The teams came out battling, but the Hurricanes caught fire and took a 20-15 lead and forced another USTA timeout.

 

After the USTA timeout they managed to erase the Hurricanes lead and tied it 25. The Hurricanes were able to win the set 27-25 with two quick points.

 

The Hurricanes came out on fire to start the second set as they jumped out to a 7-5 lead and forced a USTA timeout. After the timeout it was a different story as USTA stormed back and tied the game at 12.

 

The teams would continue to battle back and forth and neither one would be able to pull away. With the set tied at 21 the Hurricanes called a timeout. The set would continue to be the same as with the game tied at 24 USTA called a timeout. The teams would continue to battle but it was USTA who were able to take the set 29-27 and tie the game at 1.

 

The third set started like the second, but the Dragons were able to find momentum and taking a 17-14 lead. The three-point lead didn't last long as the Hurricanes cut the lead down to 1 21-20 and forced a timeout. The teams continued to battle back and forth as the game was tied at 23 and a timeout was called.

 

USTA came out of the timeout and scored two quick points to take the set 25-23 and a 2-1 lead in the game.

 

USTA came out in the fourth set on fire as they broke out to a 5-2 lead and forced a Hurricanes timeout. The Hurricanes were able to find some momentum as they stormed all the way back and tied the set at 8. USTA were able to regain lead 10-8 and continued to extend their lead. With the score 18-14 the Hurricanes were forced to call a timeout.

 

USTA didn't look back as they continued to hold their lead and win the set 25-23 and win the game 3-1.
