ACAA women’s basketballl

The UNB Saint John Seawolves hosted the St. Thomas Tommies in an ACAA women's basketball Valentine Day match up Wednesday in Saint John.

The Tommies led 32-24 at half time and never relinquished the lead as they went on to defeat the Seawolves 65-50.

The Tommies had strong performances from Christina Richardson (14 points and 9 rebounds) and Alana Dowling (14 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals) several players. Bridget Frazee added 10 points and 4 rebounds to aid in the win. 

Kelsie Simon was a bright spot on offense and defense for the Seawolves, scoring 12 points and nabbing 4 steals. Alannah Hansen also had a great outing for the Seawolves with 8 points and a game-high 10 rebounds while Allyson McLaughlin finished with 8 points and 4 rebounds.

The Tommies improved to 9-6 which leaves them in fourth place while UNB Saint John dropped to 2-12 and stay in sixth spot.

Both teams play Saturday, February 17. The Tommies host the Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics Saturday at 5:00 PM while the Seawolves busy home stand continues with a 1:00 PM game again Crandall University.
