The UKC Blue Devils women's basketball team triumphed in their home opener Saturday, besting the visiting Mount Allison Mounties by a final score of 46-42. The Mounties' effort was led by Abby Miller, who put up 10 points and 5 rebounds, while the Blue Devils were led by rookie Geana George, who was good for 24 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 blocks. This performance earned George the ACAA Athlete of the Week award.
