Mystics stretch ACAA lead

CHARLOTTETOWN - The MSVU Mystics improved to 10-1 (won-lost) in ACAA regular season play with a 72-63 victory over the Holland Hurricanes (8-3) Saturday afternoon at the Holland College Centre for Community Engagement. 

The Mystics led by as many as 15 in the third quarter before the Hurricanes cut the lead to three mid-way through the fourth. 

Five mystics scored in double-digits, led by Julia Kokonis' 14 point - 14 rebound double-double. For the Hurricanes, Ashley Plaggenhoef's 16 points led the offense, while Sophie Atkinson (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Kassandra Little (12 points, 10 rebounds) each turned in double-double efforts. Aki Kobayashi had an impressive outing with nine points, nine boards, and nine assists - narrowly missing out on a triple-double performance.

The Hurricanes trailed 27-18 through the first quarter, 40-33 at the half, and 54-50 through three.
